BIC Graphic Hero: Sara Rooney

Marketing Design Manager – Clearwater, FL

Sara is constantly taking on added responsibilities- most recently to set up new product photography. Since we now are launching new products every month this has been an ongoing responsibility and she has done a great job of handling this while keeping up with all her other ongoing design projects.

Sara just had her 17-year work anniversary with BIC Graphic. She was hired as a Graphic Designer in the Marketing Department initially, and now works as the Design Manager for the creative team in Clearwater. Her and her team work on everything from small projects like simple web banner ads and flyers to projects as large as brand books, catalogs and large format trade show graphics. The days are never the same, and she loves the variety in the projects that come her way.

Her most memorable campaigns have been “Think BIC” and “Live BIC Graphic”, out-of-the box projects like the Clic Stic ColorMax flip-book, and seeing large-scale graphics come together at our trade show booths. But what she really loves about her years at BIC Graphic is that she’s always been a part of a strong, dedicated creative team. She enjoys the collaboration and the brainstorming most of all.

Sara’s favorite item is the BIC® Image Pen – it was part of a group of writing instruments we launched under the recent “love my BIC” campaign, and she really likes how it writes. She also uses her 15855 Spiral Notebook with Tabs every day.

Outside of work Sara likes to be near the water – playing frisbee, kicking a soccer ball on the beach, boating, or being out on a stand up paddle board. She enjoys working on art as well – drawing, painting, jewelry-making, collage work and taking photographs. Most of all she enjoys volunteering, and she’s working on getting better at the acoustic guitar. She also loves to travel as often as possible.

Thank you, Sara, for all the beautiful art you have contributed to BIC Graphic over the years!
